Volleyball Recap: Ottawa Comes Up Short

Ottawa was the 2-0 winner over Streator when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Thursday.

While Ottawa was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Bella Knoll and Emma Molina, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Jordyn Allen and her four assists. Ashlynn Ganiere controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Ottawa's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Streator, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Ottawa will host Yorkville Christian at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Streator, they will take on Byron in a tournament on Saturday.
