Watertown is a perfect 6-0 against Waunakee since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Goslings will venture away from home to face off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Watertown has three straight wins, Waunakee has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Watertown's victory against Monona Grove wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Goslings had just enough and edged out the Silver Eagles 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Goslings have posted since May 11, 2024.

Cali Craig made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Breanna Meracle, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Waunakee's offense. They lost 12-0 to Oregon on Tuesday.
Watertown's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Waunakee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
Watertown's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Goslings have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Waunakee, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Watertown continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Watertown's way against Waunakee when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Watertown made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Goslings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
