Baseball Recap: Lyman Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lyman waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Martin County Tigers by a score of 6-3. This was payback for the Greyhounds, who suffered a 12-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Dyson Beamon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Yadiel Ruiz Espada was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Lyman's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Martin County, they moved to 12-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Lyman will be taking part in a tournament against Flagler Palm Coast at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Martin County, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against King's Academy at 6:00 p.m.
