Softball Game Preview: East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers vs. Liberty Hurricanes

The East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers are taking a road trip to square off against the Liberty Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. East Stroudsburg South has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Stroudsburg South couldn't beat Pleasant Valley on Tuesday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the fourth inning. The Cavaliers lost 24-14 to the Bears. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (13), the Cavaliers still had to take the loss.

Olivia Robinson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emily Ehrhardt, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Liberty hadn't done well against Hazleton Area recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Hurricanes were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for East Stroudsburg South, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

East Stroudsburg South couldn't quite finish off Liberty when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
