After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Essex, Sussex Central was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lakeland Cavaliers with a sharp 28-7 win. The Tigers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 40-6).

Jamar Gatling threw for 42 yards. Jaymarey Tazewell was his top target, picking up 51 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Lakeland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaden White picked up 90 receiving yards and one score.

The victory got Sussex Central back to even at 1-1. As for Lakeland, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Sussex Central has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Mathews on the 12th. As for Lakeland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 56-6 defeat against Manor on the 12th.
