Football Game Preview: Mira Monte Lions vs. Arvin Bears + How To Watch

Mira Monte is 2-7 against Arvin since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lions will venture away from home to take on the Bears at 7:30 p.m. Mira Monte knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Arvin likes a good challenge.

Mira Monte's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Del Oro to the tune of 35-0. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Suns recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Nathan Gonzales, who rushed for 100 yards and three scores on only 14 carries, and also threw for 108 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 18th straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Arvin lost to Foothill on the road by a 24-7 margin on Friday.

Even if they lost, Arvin's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Foothill's QB won't forget Keith Leon anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Arvin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Mira Monte, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Things could have been worse for Mira Monte, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 38-23 loss to Arvin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
