Emporia and Manhattan are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Emporia Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the Manhattan Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manhattan took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Emporia, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Emporia took their contest with ease, bagging a 64-35 win over Topeka. The Spartans have beaten the Trojans the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Manhattan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 53-47 to Junction City, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Bluejays are ranked 41st).

Manhattan's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Emporia, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Emporia skirted past Manhattan 37-35 when the teams last played on February 7th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Emporia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
