Basketball Game Preview: Galion Tigers vs. Highland Fighting Scots

The Galion Tigers will face off against the Highland Fighting Scots at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Galion has three straight victories, Highland has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Galion is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 82-68 win over Clear Fork on Monday.

Meanwhile, Highland came up short against KIPP Columbus on Saturday and fell 61-50.

Galion will have to contain Toby Rogers as he made an impact in Highland's last game. He posted 22 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Rogers has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen X. Winkelfoos, who scored seven points.

Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Galion's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Galion didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Highland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 53-47 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Rogers, who put up 20 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Galion still be able to contain Rogers?
