Softball Game Preview: Clyde Bulldogs vs. Jim Ned Indians

For the second straight game, Clyde will face off against Jim Ned. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Clyde has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Jim Ned will come in with four straight victories.

Clyde blew Jim Ned out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Jim Ned got their revenge. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Indians by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since February 16, 2024.

Kaycee Bingham put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Sutton McClain and Brileigh Dailey did some serious damage despite the final result: McClain scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Dailey went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Jim Ned pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clyde, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.
