Baseball Game Preview: Wylie Prep Academy Patriots vs. Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool Warriors

The Wylie Prep Academy Patriots will head out on the road to take on the Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Wylie Prep Academy managed to slip by Lucas Christian Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Wylie Prep Academy lost 13-3 to Lucas Christian Academy on Friday. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Spartans. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Lucas Grow was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Anthony Valeri was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Gabe Nicholson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wylie Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-3.
