Basketball Game Preview: Mansfield Tigers vs. Crowley Eagles

The Mansfield Tigers will take on the Crowley Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Mansfield came up short against Lake Ridge on Tuesday, falling 61-41. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Eagles are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, Crowley played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Boswell, falling 67-37. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-16.

Mansfield now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Crowley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Mansfield was taken down by Crowley 66-37 when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Thankfully for Mansfield, Avery Brittingham (who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
