Baseball Game Preview: Bloomington Bruins vs. Rialto Knights

For the second straight game, Bloomington will face off against Rialto. The Bruins will venture away from home to take on the Knights at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Bloomington is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Bloomington came up short against Rialto and fell 8-4.

For Rialto's part, Izzeah Zepeda made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Zepeda has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Carrillo, who scored a run and stole five bases while going 4-for-5. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hugo Sanchez, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Rialto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bloomington's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Rialto, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
