Basketball Recap: Timnath Piles Up the Points Against Montezuma-Cortez

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Timnath had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 58-24 victory over the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Montezuma-Cortez's loss came despite strong showings from Kyndall Schmitt and Kalea Ogo. Schmitt posted nine points and four steals, while Ogo scored five points. Schmitt is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Timnath has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points over those games. Montezuma-Cortez's loss dropped their record down to 7-17.

Timnath has already played their next matchup, a 59-39 win against Berthoud on the 8th. Montezuma-Cortez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
