Softball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Rebels vs. Uxbridge Spartans
Notre Dame Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-1 to the Uxbridge Spartans. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest runs Notre Dame Academy has scored all season.
For Uxbridge's part, Erin O?Day made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. O?Day has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances. O?Day was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lola Grube was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with a home run and two RBI. Ava Rosborough was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Notre Dame Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Uxbridge, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
