Recap: Cardinal Hayes vs. St. Anthony's
A well-balanced attack led Cardinal Hayes over St. Anthony's every single quarter on their way to victory. Cardinal Hayes put a hurting on St. Anthony's to the tune of 61-14. That's another feather in the cap for the Cardinals, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cardinal Hayes' offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 21 first-half points. Meanwhile, St. Anthony's couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 21 to nothing heading into the break. The offense for Cardinal Hayes continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 40 points to put the game away.
Cardinal Hayes' victory brought them up to 5-4. The loss dropped St. Anthony's' record to 3-6.
Cardinal Hayes will take on Archbishop Stepinac at 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. It should be a fierce showdown as the Cardinals are ranked fourth in the MaxPreps state rankings and Archbishop Stepinac is ranked second. As for the Friars, they do not have any more games currently scheduled.
