Baseball Game Preview: North Johnston Panthers vs. Bunn Wildcats

The North Johnston Panthers will square off against the Bunn Wildcats on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Johnston comes in on five and Bunn on seven.

North Johnston is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Martin County by a score of 7-2.

North Johnston let Daniel Turner and Cameron Willoughby run wild. Turner went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Willoughby earned two runs and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave Willoughby a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maurice Love, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bunn got the win against Clinton on Friday by a conclusive 9-2. Considering the Wildcats have won 15 matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bunn's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for North Johnston, their record now sits at 19-7.

North Johnston came up short against Bunn in their previous meeting back in April, falling 6-1. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
