Football Game Preview: Adirondack Wildcats vs. Oneida Express

Adirondack is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Oneida a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Adirondack Wildcats will host the Oneida Express at 1:00 p.m. Adirondack will be strutting in after a win while Oneida will be coming in after a loss.

Adirondack is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Weedsport by a score of 26-19 on Friday.

Robert Weiler produced another solid performance rushing for 202 yards and four scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Those 202 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Adirondack was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Adirondack didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lydell Bechy and Bryce Weiler. Bechy also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11.

Meanwhile, Oneida lost to Holland Patent at home by a 27-8 margin on Thursday. The Express were down 21-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Oneida's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Adirondack, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
