Basketball Game Preview: Wahama White Falcons vs. Wirt County Tigers

The Wahama White Falcons and the Wirt County Tigers will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Wahama is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Hannan 90-35. With the White Falcons ahead 54-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Wirt County can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 65-55 victory over Gilmer County.

Wahama better keep an eye on Alex Bevel. He was instrumental in Wirt County's win, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine assists. Those nine assists gave Bevel a new career-high. Easton Wyer was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds.

Wirt County was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Wahama's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for Wirt County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything went Wahama's way against Wirt County when the teams last played back in January, as Wahama made off with a 76-56 win. Will Wahama repeat their success, or does Wirt County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
