Beaver waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Emery Spartans. That's two games straight that the Beavers have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on David Smith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Carter, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Beaver's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Emery, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Beaver will square off against American Leadership Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Beaver's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so American Leadership Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Emery, they will be taking part in a tournament against San Juan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Juan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
