Basketball Recap: Cloquet Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. Francis last Saturday, Cloquet came back down to earth. The Cloquet Lumberjacks lost 76-56 to the Esko Eskomos on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lumberjacks have suffered against the Eskomos since February 15, 2022.

Cloquet's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Esko, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cloquet will venture away from home to challenge Hibbing at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hibbing knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Cloquet likes a good challenge. As for Esko, they will face off against North Community at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Esko knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 games -- so hopefully North Community likes a good challenge.
