Basketball Recap: Derek Dollerschell and Lane Schock Secure Win for Prairie

On Friday, the Prairie Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Arickaree Bison 37-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Prairie was led to victory by Lane Schock and Derek Dollerschell. Schock almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds, while Dollerschell posted nine points. The dominant performance gave Dollerschell a new career-high in points.

Prairie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Arickaree lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Austin Wright, who scored seven points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Dillon Noletubby, who put up four points and three steals.

Prairie's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Arickaree, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Prairie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-30 defeat against Haxtun on the 11th. Arickaree has also already played their next contest, a 59-30 victory against Flagler on the 11th.
