Soccer Game Preview: A.L. Brown vs. South Iredell

A.L. Brown hasn't had much luck against South Iredell recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wonders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

A.L. Brown fell victim to Mooresville and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, A.L. Brown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Mooresville are ranked 56th).

Meanwhile, South Iredell also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Lake Norman on Tuesday, falling 5-0. The loss continues a trend for South Iredell in their meetings with Lake Norman: they've now lost four in a row.

South Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for A.L. Brown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7-1.

A.L. Brown might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from South Iredell when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Wonders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
