Basketball Recap: North Miami Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jeano Joachim and Kingson Valcourt

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Miami can now relate to. They took a 77-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of TERRA Environmental. The Pioneers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Despite the loss, North Miami had strong showings from Kingson Valcourt, who went 9-for-15 en route to 25 points in addition to six boards and three steals, and Jeano Joachim, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance gave Joachim a new career-high in points. Calando Joseph was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Mateo Baron continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for TERRA Environmental, going 9-for-16 to rack up 28 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Merlo, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

North Miami's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for TERRA Environmental, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.
