Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Pius X

Pius X extended their home winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Hannah Bedient. The Pius X Thunderbolts simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Elkhorn South Storm 74-39 thanks in part to Bedient, who went 10 for 16 en route to 20 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Keeleigh Knobbe, who posted eight points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Despite the loss, Elkhorn South still got an impressive performance from Aimee Burke, who had 11 points. Alexa Eddie was another key player, putting up five points.

Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Elkhorn South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Pius X will venture away from home to face off against Gretna East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pius X is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.7 points per game this season. As for Elkhorn South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Millard West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Millard West will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Elkhorn South surely won't give up without a fight.
