Basketball Game Preview: Southwest Valley vs. Martensdale-St. Mary's Blue Devils

Southwest Valley hasn't had much luck against Martensdale-St. Mary recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:15 p.m.

Southwest Valley is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game last Friday. They took a 68-50 bruising from Southeast Warren.

Meanwhile, Martensdale-St. Mary's came tearing into last Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 43-22 victory. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Martensdale-St. Mary's pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for Southwest Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
