Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Takes a Loss

Mid-Carolina suffered their closest defeat since December 29, 2023 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Fairfield Central Griffins by a score of 44-41. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Griffins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Mid-Carolina lost, don't look at Kaden Myers. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ryan Crooks, who earned seven points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Mid-Carolina was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their 13th loss (out of 17 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Fairfield Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khaleb Feaster, who put up 13 points and eight rebounds. Desmond Edmonds was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Mid-Carolina has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Fairfield Central, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

While Mid-Carolina had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
