Linfield Christian takes loss despite strong efforts from Julius Brower and Ryder Silva

Recap: Linfield Christian Lions vs. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors

The Linfield Christian Lions suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, falling 80-44. While losing is never fun, Linfield Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 324th, while St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy is ranked 11th).

Despite the loss, Linfield Christian had strong showings from Ryder Silva, who scored 11 points along with two blocks, and Julius Brower, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Silva has scored all season.

Linfield Christian's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 9-13. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Linfield Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Woodcrest Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Woodcrest Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Linfield Christian likes a good challenge. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Serra at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
