Football Recap: Southside Christian Skates Past Saluda with Ease

Southside Christian got themselves on the board against Saluda on Friday, but Saluda never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 28-0. This was payback for the Sabres, who suffered a 19-14 defeat the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Southside Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Max Breit and his top target D.J. Lee. Breit rushed for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries while Lee rushed for 203 yards and two TDs. Lee didn't just play on offense: he also made two total tackles and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Southside Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 343 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Southside Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Saluda, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southside Christian will welcome Carolina Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saluda, they will square off against Newberry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
