Basketball Game Preview: Littleton Lions vs. Wheat Ridge Farmers

Littleton has gone 10-0 against Wheat Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Littleton Lions will challenge the Wheat Ridge Farmers at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Littleton and 16 for Wheat Ridge.

Last Wednesday, Littleton came up short against Golden and fell 41-30. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Demons are ranked 73rd).

Littleton's loss came about despite a quality game from Emma Bird, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Bird has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lena Drakos, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-17, which was the final score in Wheat Ridge's tilt against Centaurus on Friday.

Littleton's record now sits at 5-11. As for Wheat Ridge, their record is now 1-16.

Everything came up roses for Littleton against Wheat Ridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-18 win. In that game, Littleton amassed a halftime lead of 31-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
