Flag Football Recap: Torrey Pines Takes a Loss

Torrey Pines was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 37-26 to the Northwood Timberwolves. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 145th).

Torrey Pines' loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Northwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Torrey Pines will square off against San Marcos at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Falcons 14.5, the Knights 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Northwood, they have already played their next contest, a 16-6 defeat against Camarillo on the 27th.
