Basketball Game Preview: Klahowya Eagles vs. Montesano Bulldogs

The Klahowya Eagles will challenge the Montesano Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Klahowya has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight defeats, while Montesano will come in with seven straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Klahowya took a blow against Annie Wright, falling 57-16. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Montesano strolled past Elma with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 40-21. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Eagles are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montesano has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Klahowya, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Klahowya was dealt a bruising 70-27 defeat at the hands of Montesano in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Klahowya was down 40-12.
