Basketball Recap: Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers vs. Legacy Charter Eagles
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 36-9 win over the Legacy Charter Eagles. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Explorers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ridgeview Global Studies Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chelsse Jean-Giles, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jean-Giles has been hot , having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caralyn Izzo, who posted eight points in addition to four steals.
Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Legacy Charter, they will be defending their home-court for the first time this season they go up against Holy Cross Lutheran Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
