Softball Game Preview: Clear Creek Wildcats vs. Clear Brook Wolverines

The Clear Creek Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Clear Brook Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clear Creek has seven straight wins, Clear Brook has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Clear Creek made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clear Falls, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 18-0 victory on Friday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Clear Brook's offense. They came up short against Deer Park on Friday, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wolverines' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clear Creek's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Clear Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything went Clear Creek's way against Clear Brook in their previous matchup back in March, as Clear Creek made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
