Volleyball Recap: Preble Shawnee Falls Despite Big Games from Sallie Montgomery and Bentlee Mccain

Preble Shawnee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Carlisle Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Arrows of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Preble Shawnee had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Preble Shawnee had strong showings from Bentlee McCain, who had nine digs and two aces, and Sallie Montgomery, who had 16 digs, five kills, and two aces. Montgomery has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last seven times she's played.

Preble Shawnee's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Carlisle, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.

Coming up, Preble Shawnee will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carlisle, they have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Twin Valley South on the 22nd.
