Basketball Recap: Academy of the Pacific Rim Falls to Neighborhood House Charter in First Game of Season

Academy of the Pacific Rim unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Neighborhood House Charter Legends on Wednesday, falling 74-25. Academy of the Pacific Rim was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Neighborhood House Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Neighborhood House Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Denyah Upshaw, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Karin Richardson, who posted 20 points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Academy of the Pacific Rim does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Neighborhood House Charter and Boston Latin Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neighborhood House Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.
