Baseball Game Preview: Summit Hilltoppers vs. Watchung Hills Regional Warriors

The Summit Hilltoppers will challenge the Watchung Hills Regional Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Summit and Westfield had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hilltoppers fell 6-3 to the Blue Devils on Friday. Hilltoppers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Blue Devils since on Friday.

Summit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane Walsh, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Watchung Hills Regional unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of North Hunterdon by a score of 9-8.

ROB CENTAMORE made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was JACOB JACONSKI, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Watchung Hills Regional's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Summit beat Watchung Hills Regional 13-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Hilltoppers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
