Basketball Recap: Miller School of Albemarle Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fishburne Military

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miller School of Albemarle). They claimed a resounding 110-31 victory over the Fishburne Military Caissons. The Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Miller School of Albemarle was led to victory by Ryan Crotty and Shane Crissman. Crotty went 14 of 26 on his way to 39 points along with seven steals and six assists, while Crissman almost dropped a double-double on 35 points and nine steals. The contest was Crotty's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Jaylen Dyer was another key player, shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Miller School of Albemarle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win (which was Miller School of Albemarle's third in a row) raised their record to 12-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.0 points per game. As for Fishburne Military, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Miller School of Albemarle won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Carlisle at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Miller School of Albemarle's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Carlisle has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
