Softball Recap: PikeView Panthers vs. Bluefield Beavers

PikeView took a 19-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bluefield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Beavers 6-5. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 19-0 victory the Beavers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Shelby Maddox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.
