Basketball Recap: New Bridge Academy Takes a Loss

New Bridge Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a blow against the James River HomeSchool Eagles, falling 63-31. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 43-26 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Despite the defeat, New Bridge Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ross Scott dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. That was a full 64.5% of New Bridge Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Brody Snelson was another key player, putting up three points along with 21 rebounds, five steals, and five blocks.

New Bridge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for James River HomeSchool, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Bridge Academy will venture away from home to square off against Millwood at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for James River HomeSchool, they will challenge Legacy Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Legacy Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 matches.
