It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Galena can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stockton Blackhawks on Thursday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Mya McCoy paced Galena's offense, picking up nine kills. McCoy got some help from Emma Ehrler and her 18 assists.

Stockton was led to victory by Natalee Sullivan and Kaydra Wright. Sullivan had 12 digs and four assists, while Wright hit 66.7% for six kills and 28 assists and four digs. Wright is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 38 games she's played.

Galena's defeat dropped their record down to 31-7. As for Stockton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Galena nor Stockton have any future games scheduled.
