Baseball Recap: American Leadership Academy Find Success

American Leadership Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Patriots' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jarom Peterson and Dalton Teets did most of the damage at the plate: Peterson scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Teets scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Teets a new career-high. Michael Boyd was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

American Leadership Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

American Leadership Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, American Leadership Academy will take on Northside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they will challenge North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
