Soccer Game Preview: Little Rock Southwest vs. Conway

Little Rock Southwest hasn't had much luck against Conway recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gryphons will take on the Wampus Cats at 7:00 p.m. Little Rock Southwest has given up an average of 8.7 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Little Rock Southwest is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Thursday. They lost 7-1 to Jonesboro. That's two games in a row now that Little Rock Southwest have lost by exactly six goals.

Meanwhile, Conway kept a clean sheet against Pulaski Academy on Thursday. They came out on top against the Bruins by a score of 2-0. Given Conway's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Pulaski Academy are ranked 27th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Conway's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Little Rock Southwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.

Little Rock Southwest suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Conway when the teams last played back in March. Can the Gryphons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
