Football Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Monterey Trail Mustangs        
        
		
            The Franklin Wildcats will square off against the Monterey Trail Mustangs at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday. Franklin will be strutting in after a  win while Monterey Trail will be coming in after a  loss.
Franklin gave up the first  points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They managed  a  39-34 victory over Pleasant Grove. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 3, 2021.

 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Braylon Robinson, who threw for 262 yards and three  TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt, and also punched in one  score on the ground. Robinson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Wildcats' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Caden Bowers, who gained 139 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile,  after a string of three wins, Monterey Trail's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. They came up short against  Rocklin, falling  35-14. The Mustangs were down  35-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
 Although Monterey Trail took the loss, they still got scores from  Odie Jefferson and  Albert Dennis.
 Franklin pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 47.5 points over those games. As for Monterey Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
 Franklin took a serious blow against Monterey Trail  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, falling  48-8. Thankfully for the Wildcats,  D'ADRIEN SANDERS (who rushed for 208 yards and four  touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
