LEE was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southside Cardinals. Even though they lost, the Volunteers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
CT Berlenga stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Zech Fields, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
LEE's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Southside, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4.
Looking ahead, LEE will face off against Clark at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. LEE has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Southside, they have already played their next match, a 6-0 loss against San Antonio HomeSchool on the 10th.
