Softball Game Preview: David Thibodaux Bulldogs vs. Teurlings Catholic Rebels

The David Thibodaux Bulldogs will challenge the Teurlings Catholic Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Wednesday, David Thibodaux didn't have quite enough to beat Southside and fell 6-5.

Morgan Malveaux put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed over her last seven matches. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aubrey Savini was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Teurlings Catholic came up short against Airline on Saturday and fell 12-7. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Reagan Brasseaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Teurlings Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kameryn Bonin, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

David Thibodaux has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. Teurlings Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

David Thibodaux took their victory against Teurlings Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5. Will David Thibodaux repeat their success, or does Teurlings Catholic has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
