Baseball Recap: Kermit Comes Up Short

If Kermit was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of McCamey on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kermit Yellow Jackets lost 12-2 to the Crane Cranes on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets were not able to make up for their loss to the Cranes from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Kermit saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zakry Salais, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Salais is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stole at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Kermit now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Crane, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Kermit will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kermit has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Crane, they have already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Christoval on the 1st.
