Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill). They never let the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Tuesday. The Lion haven't had any issues with the Chancellors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Andrew Cavender made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 3-6 otherwise. Cavender was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Judah Cannon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was N J Uhlenberg, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win got Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill back to even at 6-6. As for St. Thomas More Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill will host Trinity Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Lion will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Thomas More Academy, they will welcome Neuse Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chancellors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
