Football Game Preview: Jefferson County Patriots vs. Dobyns-Bennett Indians

The Jefferson County Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Dobyns-Bennett Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dobyns-Bennett will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Jefferson County extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Patriots blew past Science Hill 31-6. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won three matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dobyns-Bennett). They claimed a resounding 45-14 victory over West Ridge. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Indians had established a 24-point advantage.

Dobyns-Bennett's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Jefferson County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Jefferson County came out on top in a nail-biter against Dobyns-Bennett in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, sneaking past 26-23. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Indians' Austin Sykes, who rushed for 52 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 111 yards and one TD on only eight passes.
