Volleyball Recap: Valencia Comes Up Short

Valencia was the 3-2 winner over Ventura when they last played one another back in September of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Cougars on Tuesday.

While Valencia ultimately came up short, they really made Ventura work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 22-25, 25-16, 29-27.

Valencia's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ventura, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Valencia and Ventura will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vikings will challenge rival Hart at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ventura is set to take on their familiar foe Pacifica at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
