Baseball Game Preview: Bellevue Tigers vs. Ludlow Panthers

The Bellevue Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Ludlow Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellevue will be strutting in after a win while Ludlow will be coming in after a defeat.

Bellevue will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Covington Latin on Saturday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 18-2 victory. Considering the Tigers have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Ludlow lost 18-8 to Bishop Brossart on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Parker Trenkamp was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Jackson Mays, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Bellevue moved to 11-14 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Ludlow, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.

Everything went Bellevue's way against Ludlow in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Bellevue made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
